The plug-in lets the user add up to 12 dB of boost or cut at any of 15 bands centered around ISO 23 octave frequencies from 20Hz to 20kHz.Īctually, it installs a virtual card that reprocesses sound frequencies.Īny music files can be added: from MP3s to converted iTunes files. Though at a first look it may seem quite simple, EqualizerPro is actually a pretty complete sound equalizer that includes everything one could ever need or expect from such an application.

The RoMac 10 Band Equalizer has ten separate equalizer bands, with a generous plus or minus 16 dB of range, to ensure that your audio always sounds its best. You can view and set song ratings, manage equalizer settings, etc. This program also allows you to create a list of reminders: you can tell the program to show you a note, play a sound, or run a program at a given date and time. You can click on the available icons to access common tasks, such as opening documents, exploring folders, viewing calendars or launching programs. It is very good for specialists and artists who want to add some sound effects to their songs making them by this way more attractive to the audience. It implements a spectrum analyzer by displaying the audio level in each of SuperEQ s 18 frequency bands, using Histogram(audiolevels). Of course, the downside of this is that, depending on the EQ applied, a significantly reduced signal level will be sent to a headphone amp. The practical result is that any boost EQ applied in MathAudio Headphone EQ should never clip the output form Foobar. The filtered output maximum peak is -6 dB below the pink noise output when no filters were applied. In the second graph, the Headphone EQ slider was set to -6 dB. The Headphone EQ gains slider was set to 0 dB in this test. The remainder of the filtered response is below the output from Foobar with no EQ applied. The maximum boost peak touches the no EQ applied pink noise output.

In one graph, the output of the pink noise signal with no EQ applied in the MathAudio plug in is compared to the output with the HD280 Pro filter active. In this EQ, there is a total range of about 11 dB between the maximum boost and cuts in the filter. There is a screenshot shown of an EQ I developed for my Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphones.

Output from my laptop went to the ASIO driver for a Topping D10 DAC, and the analog output was input into a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 with measurements taken with ARTA. These were generated by playing a pink noise signal in Foobar 2000 with the MathAudio Headphone EQ plug in enabled in the DSP manager of the Playback Preference. Since then I have made some measurements with the results shown in the attached files. I also said that I had not made any measurements to confirm this hypothesis. In my earlier post on this thread ( #5), I mentioned that it appears that MathAudio Headphone EQ for Foobar reduces the overall output by setting the maximum boost applied in the EQ to a level of 0 dB. This is a follow up to my earlier post on this thread.
